Kevin Gausman continues to impress. His 10.92 K/9 is best on this slate and his is dazzling with a 1.82 ERA. his last four starts are even better with a 1.40 ERA and enters today’s game with 19 straight scoreless innings. The Tigers have regressed to an average offense in the last month and Gausman should benefit from pitching in this big ballpark.

I think Jon Lester is really interesting. You could make a case for both sides of this, so it’s really about how much risk you’re willing to take on. Lester has been dominant this month and really, even longer than that. Over his last season, his 1.35 ERA is hard to argue with. He’s holding opponents to a .178 batting average and is racking up a strikeout per inning. He’s facing a high strikeout Houston team who is capable of allowing big time fantasy points to his opponents. The concern, of course, is that Houston is just as likely to drop a ten spot. It would be a significant downgrade for Lester to travel to Houston today and he will have to face an American League lineup with a DH.

Now the flip side of this matchup is interesting as well. Joe Musgrove was the flavor of the week in his first few starts, but has allowed 18 earned runs over his last 19 innings including six homers! He’s allowing a whopping .366 batting average and 1.125 OPS to opponents. The Cubs receive all the benefits of the Astros, offensively, getting a big boost in ballpark and getting to add a DH to their already potent offense.
