Week 3 Running Backs | Week 3 Wide Receivers Week 3 Tight Ends

Let’s get this out of the way, Aaron Rodgers ($8,000) is the greatest QB in the league and he’s still underrated. That’s how much I love this guy. He made it look easy dicing up the SEA defense last week for 249 yards, 2 TDs and 22.26 DK points. This could have very easily been a four TD game for Rodgers. They had one James Jones TD overturned and another trip inside the five yard line that ended in a FG. He can put up 300 yards and 4 TDs on anyone and he is insanely good at home. His 8 home games last season were all inside his top 10 best fantasy games. The Chiefs are going to have their hands full with Rodgers.

There are a few things that are scary if you’re a defense when it comes to having to face Peyton Manning ($7,400) and one of them is extra time to prepare. Manning and the Broncos have a lot to figure out offensively, but they are going to get a long week to do so before heading to Detroit to face the Lions. The Lions have surrendered 24 and 18 DK points to Philip Rivers and Teddy Bridgewater. Manning is looking better after throwing 3 TD against the Chiefs last week. If there’s ever a week to be optimistic on Manning as a contrarian play, it’s this week.

I am loving me some Cam Newton ($6,800) this week. We saw Jameis Winston drop 19.58 DK points on the Saints defense on the road and Newton is just a much better version of Winston. Cam provided his owners exactly what they were looking for last week against HOU with 28.4 DK points. He didn’t crack 200 yards through the air, but didn’t need to as he added 76 yards and a TD on the ground. It’s clear that the Panthers are running the entire offense through Cam and letting him take advantage of defenses on the ground with 24 rushing attempts in the first two games.

The upside of Carson Palmer ($6,600) has me licking my chops. He’s been outstanding this season so far, throwing 7 TDs compared to only one interception. Palmer is already the third highest scoring DK QB this season, and he’s going to get a great matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. Palmer could see similar deep success that Big Ben saw last week because you know a Bruce Arians offense is not afraid to air it out. In fact, both Big Ben and Carson Palmer are in the top 3 of deepest average target across the league.

If you’re looking for value, Ryan Fitzpatrick ($5,100) is your guy! He’s nearly minimum priced on DraftKings and has been more than servicable in his first two weeks, scoring 14 and 17 DK points. He’s going to get what is presumably his best matchup yet with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have struggled to keep WRs in check and Brandon Marshall could have a field day against CB Byron Maxwell. With the breakneck speed that the Eagles like to play with, Fitzpatrick would presumably see more snaps in this game than he will all season.

There are a ton of nice value plays and studs at QB in Week 3. Commentary based on DraftKings strategy and scoring.
