It looks like it will be hard to avoid Steph Curry ($10,700) on this slate today. He’s cookin’ right now, as he has been all season, averaging 54.8 DraftKings points per game. He has now fired 77 shot attempts in his last three games, which is about one shot every 1:30 minutes he’s on the court. He’s clearly a threat to get hot in a moments notice and can drop 40 on any given night. He’s the best player in the highest total game on the board, so fire him up.
Kemba Walker ($6,400) can be frustrating at times, but still has the ability to go for big nights. He’s highly volatile, as shown in his last three games of 18.5, 44.25 and 30.5 DraftKings points in that span. It’s very difficult to predict when he will have a big night, but the factors are positive for him tonight. The Hornets are banged up with Hairston ruled out for tonight and Jeremy Lamb questionable. They are moving Marvin Williams to the SF position and rolling out Cody Zeller at the PF spot. The true constant in all this movement is Kemba, who the Hornets may rely on the shoulder the workload on a unit trying to build it’s chemistry. The matchup with the Knicks is a plus and we can play the narrative game about a kid from the Bronx headed back to the Garden, in-line for a massive night.
Everyone will be firing up Dennis Schroder ($4,600) tonight and for good reason. The Hawks will be shorthanded when they travel to Brooklyn, without Jeff Teague and Kent Bazemore. Dennis Schroder is a highly productive player, averaging one DraftKings point per minute this season. Expect him to see a ton of minutes for the Hawks tonight and he only needs 27.6 DraftKings points to reach 6x value, which he has done in every game he’s played at least 25 minutes.
An interesting little play coming out of Miami, in the form of Dwyane Wade ($6,200) tonight. Wade hasn’t played a game in a week, which I believe is more of a benefit than a hindrance to the 33 year old superstar. He should be well-rested and ready to play against the Timberwolves who he shredded just twelve days ago. Wade posted a 25-5 line, good enough for 39.75 DraftKings points, his best game of the season.
The Will Barton ($4,700) train keeps chugging along in Denver. Two really big games in a row for the University of Memphis product. He’s buried 26 and 19 real points and earning 38.75 and 48.5 DraftKings points in that span. He’s not afraid to shoot the ball, launching 30 shots in those games. His price is more than reasonable for a guy with this much upside in the game with the second highest O/U on the board. His minutes are volatile, but few players in this range can fill it up as quickly as Barton.
Otto Porter ($5,400) has picked up the slack with Bradley Beal sidelined the last two games. Porter is averaging 30 DraftKings points per game and can fill it up in multiple categories. Beal is unlikely to play again tonight which should lock Porter into big minutes and usage.
Thabo Sefolosha ($3,500) will make for a very interesting value play tonight. Early reports indicate that he will start in the spot of Kent Bazemore this evening and could see a season high in minutes (currently 24). Thabo has averaged 0.9 DraftKings points per minute this season, so if he sees 26 minutes at that rate tonight, he would earn 23.4 DraftKings points, good for 6.6x value.
It’s worth pointing out how good Thad Young ($5,900) has been for the Nets this season. He’s averaging 32.9 DraftKings points per game over his last eight games and  went for a massive 50 DraftKings point game in his last time out. His minutes and production provides him a very solid floor of 25 DraftKings points and has a sneaky high ceiling versus a banged up Hawks team.
His teammate, Brook Lopez ($7,100) is one of my favorite centers on the board today. Lopez has scored at least 38.25 DraftKings points in five of his last six games and is just absolutely stuffing the stat sheet. His miserable on the defensive side of the ball, but that doesn’t impact his fantasy value. He’s a walking double-double and averaging 2.5 blocks per game. Only three teams are giving up more fantasy points to opposing centers than the Hawks. Expect the entire offense to run through Lopez tonight.
