The Bermuda Championship is in the books and the Optimal Lineup is in! This week featured plenty of value and one quirk that we rarely see.

Optimal Lineup

Patrick Reed ($10,400 & 113.0 Points)

Reed broke out of a sour stretch of golf in a big way. He posted at 14-under par, the clubhouse lead at the time he finished. Entering this week, Reed had lost a total of 87.7 fantasy points to the field over his last four starts. Thanks to his T2 finish, he earned 113 fantasy points, the most since his victory at the Farmers Insurance Open in January 2021.

Taylor Pendrith ($9,100 & 108.0 Points)

Despite mixed results for Pendrith in his PGA TOUR career, he’s been a fantasy darling. He’s played eight PGA TOUR fantasy slates since the 2020 US Open and has gained fantasy points in seven of them. His birdie-making ability is incredibly valuable in fantasy. Even though he didn’t make a birdie on Sunday and failed to convert a three-stroke 54-hole lead, Pendrith still cracked into the optimal lineup.

Scott Stallings ($8,600 & 102.5 Points)

Stallings continues his success on sub-7,000 yard courses with a T5 finish in Bermuda. He was flying up the leaderboard with a 62 (9-under) on Sunday. That was the round of the day, by three strokes, and also earned him a bogey free round bonus.

Lucas Herbert ($7,700 & 118.0 Points)

Herbert battled the elements to win for the first time on the PGA TOUR. This is his third win worldwide. Herbert has largely flown under the radar in his 20 PGA TOUR starts, only cracking 10% ownership once. That might change moving forward.

Vincent Whaley ($7,000 & 95.5 Points)

Whaley finished with a 72 (1-over) on Sunday but it featured four birdies. He made 20 birdies and one eagle this week but off-set much of that with bogeys. That’s certainly fine when it comes to fantasy scoring.

Danny Lee ($6,700 & 124.5 Points)

Despite finishing T2, Lee was the highest scoring fantasy player of the week. His even-par 71 on Sunday was highlighted by five birdies, including a birdie streak. Speaking of birdie streaks, Lee earned a birdie streak in every single round this week. That’s only the sixth time a golfer has done that since 2018.

Notes

  • It’s obviously rare that the winning golfer isn’t the highest scoring fantasy player but Danny Lee (T2) stole that honor this week.
  • The combined ownership of the optimal lineup was 45.1%.
