I am back on the Tampa Bay Rays today! They are going to face CC Sabathia who has the worst xFIP on the slate in the L30. He’s walking a staggering 6.43/9 in his last three games. This is just not a very good matchup with the Rays tonight. CC’s struggles against RHB is well documented. RHBs are hitting .322 off CC this year, compared to .191 for LHB. Few teams are better than the Rays are hitting lefties, as they rank 6th in wOBA this season. They’ve also been hot as of late, ranking 7th in wOBA in the L14. This is simply a bad combination for CC and the Yankees.

Can we stop and talk about David Ortiz ($4,800) for a second? This guy just never stops! Hitting an insane .395 with 6 HRs in the L14. He’s 4-8 with 2 HRs in his career off Kevin Gausman and he’s going to get a big boost from playing at Camden Yards tonight. The park surrenders 28% more HRs to LHB than the league average.

On the other side of the field will be Nolan Reimold ($2,600). Reimold checks in at #2 on our Hitter Value Chart today. His 12.17 DK points/gm in the L7 would be worth 4.6x his salary today. Reimold goes on these really hot stretches and he’s on one right now. Hitting .360 in the L14 with 3 HRs. I love him, especially if he’s going to be hitting at the top of the order.

Anytime Billy Butler ($3,400) gets a LHP, he needs to be on your radar. Butler is a career .300 hitter off lefties and has been scoring, hitting .415 with 5 XBHs in the L14. He’s going to get a big boost from US Cellular which surrenders 33% more HRs to RHB than the league average.

Finally, my favorite play of the day is Evan Longoria ($3,800). He has been swinging a hot stick and showing off some serious pop with a .333 average and 5 HRs in the L14. He faces his old friend CC Sabathia who he has absolutely destroyed in his career. A career .393 hitter across a massive sample size. (24-61, 6 HRs, 13 walks).

It’s a big day for the Rays and we will pick on CC Sabathia. Commentary based on DraftKings strategy and scoring.
