With only six games on the slate today, our options are certainly limited. There are still some interesting plays to discuss. Commentary based on DraftKings strategy and scoring.

It’s obvious, but recommended to get as much exposure to the Colorado Rockies as possible. They are clearly a much better team at home with the benefit of Coors Field. They will take on Ryan Vogelsong who has only gotten out of the 5th inning once in his last five starts. Shelled in two straight outings by the Cardinals and Pirates. Current Rockies are batting .299 career off Vogey.

Yonder Alonso ($3,100) makes for a very sneaky play. Despite playing at Petco, he basically has everything else going for him. Alonso is batting .375 in the L14 days. He will face Mat Latos who has seen better days. Latos hasn’t made it through 4.2 IP in any of his last three starts, surrendering 12 ER in those 13.1 IP. Alonso has Latos’ number in 8 career ABs, boasting a .750 average (6-8) with a double.

If you are looking for help at catcher, look no further than Salvador Perez ($3,600). Salvy is hitting .316 in the L14 and has always mashed LHP in his career. He will face lefty Matt Boyd who is sporting a 6.65 ERA in his L5 games. The scary part is that his opponents OPS is .981, so they are doing some serious damage off of him. The Royals are one of the better hitting teams off lefties this season and Perez should be right in the middle of the order.

Nolan Arenado ($5,700) is becoming very interesting. He’s starting to heat up and find his homerun stroke. He’s homered in three straight games and of course will continue to see the benefit of Coors Field tonight. He faces off with Ryan Vogelsong who Arenado has homered off twice in only ten ABs.

We will start and end with a San Diego Padre. Tonight’s “BvP Winner” is Justin Upton ($4,100) who has demolished Mat Latos in his career to the tune of a .450 (9-20) average including two doubles and two homers. Upton has scuffled lately, hitting only .204 in the L14 but if anything can kickstart him, it might be a date with his old friend Latos.
