I am all over the New York Yankees today. Outside of a 10 day stretch, they have probably been the best offense in the league in the second half. They are certainly in the top two or three for argument’s sake. They are a much better team at home, they are rolling right now with a top 10 wOBA in the L7 and they will get Ubaldo Jimenez of the Orioles tonight. Jimenez has appeared to hit a wall here late in the season and hasn’t gone more than 5.2 IP in any of his last 5 starts. He’s sporting a 6.33 ERA with a .333 opponent batting average in that time span. The really scary part is that he’s walked 16 batters and surrendered 19 ER in just 27 innings. Throw in the big benefit of Yankee Stadium and there are a ton of factors in play for the Bronx Bombers tonight.

Speaking of Yankees, I am buying the upside of Carlos Beltran ($3,600). I think he can provide some cheap exposure to this team. Beltran is hitting .302 in the L14 and is a career .350 (7-20, 2 HRs) off Jimenez. Yankee Stadium provides a massive boost to LHB, surrendering 36% more HRs to LHB than the league average.

If you’re spending up for OF help, look no further than Mookie Betts ($4,900). Scorching hot, hitting .388 with 8 XBH in the L14. Has owned Drew Hutchison in a small sample of 9 ABs (5 hits, .556). A dynamic player who can do a lot of things in the heart of the order. That’s definitely worth a buy!

It’s an interesting time of year with young guys coming up from MiLB and trying to earn a job. One of those players making noise right now is Shawn O’Malley ($2,000). You’ve probably never heard of O’Malley and for good reason. He’s played five games for the Mariners this season, but has shown tremendous upside already. He tops our Hitter Value Chart, averaging 12.60 DK points per game in the L7 days. For a min-priced player who’s eligible at two positions, you can’t ask for much more.

One of the really interesting GPP plays is Nolan Reimold ($2,000). Reimold is back in the majors again for the stretch run and has already homered and is 3 for 10 in his first three games back. The Orioles get CC Sabathia making his first start back off the DL. It’s hard to say how sharp CC will be or how long they will use him, but Reimold has destroyed CC in his career to the tune of .379 (11-29, 2 HRs). Another min priced option who may be overlooked!
