Only six games on the slate today so we might have to spend up on stud pitchers. Commentary based on DraftKings strategy and scoring.
The top two expensive pitchers are both great options today. Let’s start with Francisco Liriano ($11,300). I only prefer Liriano in GPPs because of his high volatile style. Liriano’s range of outcomes is very high but this is a great matchup. He is getting the Milwaukee Brewers who have the 2nd worst wOBA in the league vs. LHP this season. It’s not a great ballpark to pitch in, but as mentioned, our options are really limited today.
Jordan Zimmermann ($10,400) is the much safer cash game play. A very solid stretch of games here for JZim as he tries to keep the Nationals in the playoff hunt. Zimmermann owns the slate’s best xFIP in the L30 and his K/9 is 8.91 (one of the highest stretches this season).
I believe that Mat Latos ($7,300) is worth your attention. He’s boasting the 3rd best xFIP on the slate in the L30 and gets to pitch in the league’s most pitcher friendly park. He’s certainly nothing special, but he’s in a great situation today.
That’s it! I am not rostering anyone else today, unfortunately. The Coors game removes two starters and there is just not much else going on. Jungmann has had a high K/9, but everyone is overpriced on this six game slate. Good luck!
