BRAND NEW: NBA Projections Now Live

2015-16 Game Logs | Player Scoring Calendar | Salary Database | Points Allowed By Position

With this small slate of three games, all the studs are in play. This article will focus on some of the second tier players:

D’Angelo Russell ($5,400) is an excellent option at PG tonight. Despite coming off the bench, Russell has played at least 30 minutes in each of the L4. His production has been in nearly every category, averaging 19.5 PPG, 5 APG and 2 SPG in that span. He’s tallied games of 45.5 and 41 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. He needs only 30 DraftKings points to reach full value tonight and this game has the highest O/U on the slate.

In a GPP scenario, Matthew Dellavedova ($4,400) makes for an intriguing option. He’s earning the bulk of the minutes for the Cavs and has flashed plenty of upside this season. He’s scored 22, 28.25 and 22.25 DraftKings points in three of his last four. He’s a bit volatile, but he’s a pass first guard who can earn you the 3PT bonus.

Demar Derozan ($7,100) has reached at least 5x value in four straight games. His fantasy value is closely tied to his real scoring, but few players can fill it up a fast as Derozan. He has legit 40 point upside and he is priced between Harden and Kobe, which could drive his ownership down significantly.

The power forward position is thin, so it might be the spot I am most willing to pay up. If I do spend down, it will be on Cody Zeller ($4,700). He’s scored double digit real points in four of six while flashing 30 DK Point upside. He’s not a prolific rebounder but he’s being handed great opportunity for the Hornets right now. He’s going to threaten 25 minutes tonight and can earn more if he plays well.

Timofey Mozgov ($3,700) would make for an interested punt play today. He doesn’t log big minutes, but he’s been heavily involved in the offense for the Cavs in their last two outings. He’s averaging only 7.4 PPG this season, but has tallied 9 and 17 in his last two. That’s resulted in 22.5 and 27.5 DraftKings points in those games. It looks like the Cavs are going to be shorthanded tonight at the guard position, so if they decide to play a little bigger, Mozgov could see a higher usage rate.

Frank Kaminsky ($3,700) is another punt play at center. Playing in the place of Al Jefferson, Kaminsky has done an admirable job on the boards and can provide a scoring touch as well. He’s hit at least 5x value in five of his last eight games, while returning 22+ on three of those occasions. That 22 is the number he needs for full 6x value tonight, which is certainly in his range of outcomes.
