There’s been little talk of Ervin Santana despite his stellar performances lately. Since June 19 (11 starts), Santana is posting an incredible 1.79 ERA and holding opponents to a .526 OPS. He isn’t striking out a ton of batters in that entire stretch, but is coming off a 10 strikeout game against the Royals. He’s going to make for an intriguing GPP play tonight against Toronto. Even with the Blue Jays dropping a 15 burger last night, they still rank 20th in wOBA in the last thirty days and are striking out at the second highest rate in the league in that span.

Another hot pitcher in a questionable matchup is Danny Duffy who just continues to pitch outside his mind. The Royals lefty is pitching to a 1.18 ERA over his last five starts and piling on 37 Ks in those 38 innings. Since converting to a starter in mid-May, he’s allowed two or fewer runs in 13 of 19 starts. This is another scary matchup with the Red Sox, but realize that Boston has slowed down a bit. They now rank in the middle of the pack in wOBA over the last 30 days and this would be your chance to get one of the hottest pitchers in the league at very low ownership.

Here’s what I wrote yesterday about the Indians before I found out that Griffin wasn’t starting for the Rangers. It all certainly still applies and Cleveland threw up 12 runs in the first game of this series last night:

The Indians offense is actually very compelling as well. Cleveland is one of the top offenses in the league and scoring the third most runs in the last thirty days. Not only are they scoring the most runs, they are stealing the 4th most bases so they can produce fantasy points in a lot of different ways. They now travel to another hitter friendly park and face A.J. Griffin who has been knocked around in the last month. He’s sporting a 6.75 ERA over his last four start with opponents hitting .319 with a 1.030 OPS. He’s allowed NINE homers in those four games.
