I love the San Diego Padres as a contrarian team stack today. Despite the poor ballpark, they’ve been red-hot in the L7, ranking 7th in team wOBA. Jorge De La Rosa continues to walk a ton of batters and has not had success off Padres players in his career. Current Padres have owned De La Rosa for a .405 BA! See below:

Let’s jump out of the gate with Jedd Gyorko ($2,800). He tops our Hitter Value Charts today offering 4.2x value if he has his average L7 game. Four double digits games in his L7 and eligible at both 2B and 3B today. He has one of the most ridiculous lines off starter Jorge De La Rosa. A career .648/.760/.1105 hitter in 25 PAs. See below!

There’s never any respect for Freddie Freeman ($4,400). That’s probably not a true statement, but his ownership is always dismal since 1B is so deep and the Braves are so bad. Despite that, Freeman has been his normal, consistent self, batting .325 in the L14. He’s going to get Bartolo Colon tonight, who he’s 8-18 (.444) off in his career. A nice pivot at first base.

Speaking of consistent, is there anyone better than Michael Brantley ($4,900). Just a ho-hum .304 hitter in the L14 with a career .301 average off RHP. Brantley has beaten up Alfredo Simon (who hasn’t), with 11 hits in 20 ABs (.550).

My favorite play of the day is another Padre in Matt Kemp ($4,200). Batting .300 in the L14 and showing pop with 5 HRs in that span. A career .325 hitter off LHP and has DESTROYED De La Rosa in his career. 20 hits in 46 ABs for a career .435 average.

A small slate of games today, so I am looking to be super contrarian in GPPs. Commentary based on DraftKings strategy and scoring.
