Julio Urias is an appealing option for tonight. The 19 year old phoenom has made six career starts and was promptly knocked around in his first two outings. Since then, he’s posting a 2.33 ERA and striking out 28 batters over the course of his last 19.1 innings. There are a few concerns, however. He will travel to one of the most hitter-friendly parks in the league in Miller Park and he has not lasted more than five innings in any start this season. On the plus side, his pitch counts are trending upwards and the matchup with the Brewers is certainly worth a look. Milwaukee ranks 21st in wOBA in the last thirty days and is striking out at the 4th highest rate. Urias battled the Brewers just 11 days ago and threw five shutout innings, striking out eight.

NOTE: McCullers has been scratched due to a blister. Another high strikeout option would be Lance McCullers who is posting a 10.38 K/9 in the last 30 days. That’s second on the slate to only Urias. Since June 5th, McCullers is posting a solid 3.20 ERA while striking out 28 in 25.1 IP. Tonight he will travel to Anaheim to take on the Angels have been volatile this season. They’ve been “more bad than good” as they rank 20th in wOBA in the last thirty days and they are capable of rolling out a lineup filled with under-performing veterans and retread journeymen.

It’s difficult to see how Matt Wisler will find success tonight. The Braves righty has been knocked around this month, allowing 15 ER over his last 14.2 IP. That accounts for three starts and would come out to a 9.20 ERA in that span. The real concern is that those games came against LAD, CHC and CIN. The Cubs are clearly a top offense, but the Dodgers and Reds rank in the bottom third of the league in almost every offensive category. He’s been decimated by the longball, surrendering seven in that 14 inning span. He will now face the Indians, who lose their DH, but rank 7th in wOBA in the last thirty days, 6th in homers and second in stolen bases! That’s opportunity for a lot of fantasy points tonight.
