The price is skyrocketing on Jrue Holiday ($7,700) but we have to point him out. Holiday is averaging 38 DraftKings points over his last 22 games in which he has started exactly 0 of those games. He’s been even better in the last seven, averaging 44.5 DK PPG in that span. He is taken 18.6 shots per game since January 25th which is the same number of attempts Russell Westbrook has taken per game this season. He’s simply red-hot with a massive usage rate, in an excellent matchup. In two meetings with Minnesota this season, Holiday is averaging 46.3 DK points per game. I don’t love his price and think it might be difficult for him to exceed 6x value. I am limiting him to cash game exposure.
We get a small discount on Klay Thompson ($7,300) after he laid an egg against Orlando on Thursday night. Only nine points against the Magic, but in his defense, Steph Curry took over and was the entire Warriors offense. Before that Magic game, Klay had averaged 42.6 DK PPG in the five games prior, while taking 21.2 shots per game. He’s on of the sweetest shooters in the league and playing in a game with a 233.5 O/U which is one of the highest totals this season.
Speaking of scorching, you cannot get any hotter than Kawhi Leonard ($7,600) right now. He missed three games with an injury and picked up right where he left off, scoring 40 and 47.25 DraftKings points in his first two games back. He’s now averaging 45.1 DK PPG in his last five and scoring in all five categories. He is such a crucial component of this Spurs team on both ends of the court. Now he earned a matchup with the Rockets who have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing wings this season.
Derrick Favors ($7,500) is rolling right now. Since returning from injury and earning his full load of minutes, Favors is averaging 38.4 DraftKings points over 11 games. His last four have been even more impressive, earning 43.4 DK PPG in that span. He was smooth as silk, shooting 12 of 17 from the field against the stout Spurs defense on Thursday night. Now he earns a much better matchup with the Nets who are terrible at defending big men this season. Finally, Favors loves the home-cookin’, averaging three DraftKings points per game at home than on the road this season.
We haven’t talked about Dwight Howard ($7,200) in awhile but maybe we should. The big man is averaging 42.2 DK PPG over his last six which would be worth nearly 6x value again tonight. He’s a walking double-double, accomplishing the feat in five of his last six, while averaging an 18-12 line. I like Dwight as a GPP play and I think his ownership will be dismal. Many avoid Dwight simply because they don’t like him, but many will avoid this “bad matchup” with the Spurs. Dwight only scored 27.5 DraftKings points in their only meeting this season, but you have to dig deeper. Dwight did that damage in only 22 minutes, after returning from injury. That’s an elite rate of 1.25 DK PPM that we would love to see tonight as he is off his minutes restriction and playing over 36 minutes per game.
