NBA Preview, Wed Nov 23 – DraftKings & Fanduel
It’s hard to overlook Kyle Lowry and what he has done lately. The Raptors PG has been overshadowed by teammate DeMar DeRozan‘s incredible start, but Lowry himself has turned in at least 43 DraftKings points in each of the last five games. In fact, in his last seven he’s averaging over 44 DraftKings PPG. He’s launching a ton of shots especially from beyond the arc. Expect a fast-paced, high scoring game when the Raps travel to Houston for this one.

Keep an eye on Will Barton both tonight and moving forward. Barton played in the first three games of the season for Denver before injuring his ankle and missing nine straight. He finally returned to the lineup on Sunday night, but the Nuggets eased him back into action with 19 minutes of playing time. Barton played 30, 41 and 35 minutes in those first three games of the season, so it’s likely that he’s going to be revving it up soon. Barton is a talented scorer with big-time upside on a team that is very thin in the backcourt. I am hoping for some type of indication before gametime on how many minutes Barton will play, but he’s a nice flier option for the time being.

Speaking of upside, how about Michael Kidd-Gilchrist? He’s scored 30 and 36.25 DraftKings points in his last two games and now gets a salary reduction to only $4,700 on DraftKings. MKG is a minutes monster, playing 30+ in eight of his last nine, but his results are very volatile. He’s just as likely to score 14 as 34, but he’s playing great basketball right now. Coming off two solid games and has averaged 26.4 DraftKings points in his last five.
The flip side of that game offers LaMarcus Aldridge. Another player who gets a price reduction after being rested on Monday night. Aldridge has piled on 39 and 43 DraftKings points in his last two games with solid contributions across all five categories. If you buy into home/road splits, Aldridge has been killer away from San Antonio. He averaged 37.5 DK points on the road, compared to just 27.7 at home. That might have something to do with the Spurs not blowing out road opponents or might mean nothing at all, but it’s at least worth noting.
Absolutely stacked at center tonight. I love basically everyone on the first page. Dwight Howard, Marc Gasol, Hassan Whiteside are all premier options and I didn’t even mention Anthony Davis or DeMarcus Cousins or KAT! This note is less about WHO to play and more about roster construction. With the new multiple position elgibility, it will be possible to play FOUR of these guys from the center tab tonight if you can find a way. For example, AD at PF, Boogie at Forward and two center filling out the C and UTIL positions. Obviously there will be salary concerns, but you could conceivably lock in four of those guys.
